Subsidence repairs avoid the need for underpinning

Two adjacent properties had suffered from subsidence related structural problems and, while left unoccupied, had experienced further damage as a result of vandalism, including the removal of a large area of brickwork from one rear elevation.

Defects

Subsidence possibly caused by the desiccation of the made ground by boundary hedge containing large shrubs and trees.
Extensive internal and external masonry cracking

Helifix Solution

Much of the hedgerow was removed and the superstructure of the properties and secured to provide resistance to any further residual movement.
The Helifix Approved Installer installed the Helibeam System on all elevations of both buildings, on both internal and external skins, at six different levels to stabilise the masonry, stitch cracks and distribute the structural loads.
Grouted CemTies were installed to reconnect external walls to the internal cross walls.
