A concrete slab under the stage area of the theatre block had settled and caused sideways thrust resulting in an outward bowing wall with progressive movement causing vertical cracking to the brickwork.
To construct traditional brick buttresses plus some possible taking down and rebuilding. Project time scale four weeks.
Our Approved Installer used a combination of Duckbill ground anchors and the Helibeam System. - Ground anchors were installed along the lower section of the rear and side elevations. - Pairs of stainless steel HeliBars were grouted into cut out mortar beds above and below the anchors to create lateral masonry beams. - The structure was reinforced and stabilised with the loads being evenly distributed across the whole section of wall.
Project lasted one week instead of four. Client saved over £2,700 on original price of £10,000. Footpath and three parking bays retained. No major taking down and rebuilding.
