Remedial wall ties used to secure HAs Hawsley SGS system built homes

Built in the early 1950's, these two storey terraced and semi-detached properties were Hawksley SGS system built homes comprising a concrete frame and brick outer skin. Due to the uncertain condition of the concrete frame the housing association required an e!ective replacement wall tie that would provide a reliable connection and chose the cost-effective stainless steel ResiTie which is resin bonded into both leaves. During Phase I some 5,500 ResiTies were installed in 40 properties by the Approved Installer. This involved drilling clearance holes in both leaves before bonding in the ties with PolyPlus resin, producing excellent pull-out test results.
